From maple tree to table,

Learn more about how we make our maple syrup below

Maple Tree Tap

Tap the Trees

In early spring, we tap all of our maple trees when the days are warm, but the nights are still cold.

Wood Burning Evaporator

Wait for exact Temp

Now we wait until the sap reaches approximately 219°F, which is the ideal temperature for syrup. This can take days.

Sugar Water Collection

Collect the Sap

After the buckets have filled, we gather the sap and bring it to the sugar house.

Maple Syrup Filter

Filter the Syrup

Use a cheesecloth to strain the syrup while it's still hot for optimal clarity. Filtering ensures a smooth texture and enhances the overall flavor of the syrup.

Sap Evaporator

Boil the Sap

After the sap is gathered, we boil it for many hours. It takes 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup. That's a lot of sap!

Omalley Family Farm Maple Syrup

Bottle the Syrup

We filter, seal, and bottle the syrup while it is hot from boiling.
